See Why the Soft Car 360®
Sets the Standard as the Global Vehicle Target

The Soft Car 360 is the Only Vehicle
Target You Will Need
The Soft Car 360 is designed to be the only test device you will need for your ADAS and automated vehicle testing. It can be used in place of a real vehicle in any crash scenario when paired with a robotic moving platform such as the DRI GST120, or ABD GST platforms. The Soft Car 360 and a low profile robotic platform make up the Guided Soft Target (GST) test system. It can also be used as a static target when placed on the stationary stand.
The modular design of the Soft Car 360 makes it capable of being impacted at relatively high closing speeds. This is due to the fact that the Soft Car 360 begins to separate upon initial impact, thus reducing the forces exerted on the test vehicle and on the Soft Car 360 components. The patented combination of light weight foam covered with high-strength vinyl makes the Soft Car 360 one of the most durable surrogate vehicles available. The Soft Car 360 has been able to withstand 100 impacts with 72 km/h closing speeds from both a passenger car and a truck tractor with only minimal in-field repairs.
Disclaimer: High speed impacts can result in damage to the test vehicle such as plastic bumper clips.
Test scenarios include:
- AEB including offset
- Head-on
- Intersection
- Blind spot/Lane keeping
- Backing and park assist
- V2V
- Automated vehicle testing

The Reliable and Reusable 3D Vehicle Target
DRI, in partnership with over a dozen OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, has calibrated the Soft Car 360 to be representative of a small passenger vehicle to all relevant automotive sensors, including:
• Radar  • IR
• Laser  • Camera
The modular design of the Soft Car 360 is the key to its durability. It is capable of handling 100 impacts at 72 MPH. But the real key to its durability is modularity. If any piece gets damaged, it can be replaced without needing to buy a completely new Soft Car 360.
Certain parts are more likely to be damaged than others. DRI can assist you in planning for replacement parts to minimize any impact to your tests.
Assembly is simple and takes just minutes
The assembly of the Soft Car 360 is quite simple as the location of each piece is identified. Assembly time can vary depending on the impact type and speed. A full assembly with 4 people takes approximately 9 minutes. Minor impacts can be reassembled faster. Assembly with fewer people can take longer.
